Birthday Surprise Gift Idea - includes recipes

Today was my friends birthday and I wanted to surprise her with a special gift. I chose to make her a customized gift basket (pictures will be at the bottom). I filled the basket with all sorts of treats and small gifts that I bought or baked. This gift basket is a great gift to give to your family and friends for any special occasion because it is customizable to the persons liking and it is a super cute gift.

Some things that I added in the gift basket included, sour patch candy, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate cover strawberries (look below for recipe), chocolate chip cookies (look below for recipe), earrings, candle, gummy candy, a handmade letter and to top it off I put confetti.

Everything that I have listed above, you can find at target (including the gift basket). You do not have to put everything that I have listed above but try to put in a good amount of stuff to fill the bin.

Chocolate chip cookie recipe:

Ingredients:

- 1/4 cup unsalted butter

- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1 large egg yolk

- 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup flour

- 1/4 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 tsp salt

- chocolate chip (add desired amount)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl mix together butter and sugar together and mix for 1-2 min

  2. Add egg yolk and vanilla extract into the mixture and stir until smooth

  3. After mixture is smooth, add flour, baking powder, and salt and mix until it becomes a dough consistency.

  4. Add in your desired amount of chocolate chips

  5. Put mixture in the fridge for about 10 min so it can firm up

  6. While mixture is in fridge, preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

  7. Take the dough out of the fridge and take about 1.5 tbsp of dough and roll into balls then place on the baking tray

  8. Bake for 10-12 min until golden brown

  9. 😊 ENJOY!

Chocolate Covered strawberries

Ingredients:

- 10 ounce Ghirardelli Baking Chips (semi sweet)

- 30 fresh strawberries (washed and dried)

Instructions:

  1. In a small sauce pan melt you chocolate chips and add milk (add ur desired amount, the more milk you add the thinner it becomes)

  2. Stir the mixture until the chocolate is smooth and there are no chucks

  3. Take your strawberries (make sure they are dried and have no water on them) and hold them by the stem then dip them in your chocolate

  4. Make sure the chocolate fully covers the strawberries

  5. Place you strawberries on parchment paper once you are done dipping

  6. Chill strawberries in the fridge for 20-30 min until the chocolate is firm

  7. ENJOY! :)
